  7. This patch applies to "Powerdrive" (c) 1994 Rage Software/US Gold - 2 disks.

  10. REQUIREMENTS:
  11. - Slave requires WHDLoad V10+.
  12. - Game requires 1.0Mb chip mem (+1.3Mb other memory for preload option)

  14. FEATURES:
  15. - Full load from HD
  16. - Loads and saves language, all options, password and player names from 
  17.   the previous game (a *nightmare* to code)
  18. - 2 versions supported
  19. - RNC protection removed
  20. - Decruncher relocated to fast memory
  21. - Empty keyboard dbf loop fixed (x3)
  22. - ButtonWait tooltype added for intro
  23. - Intro and ingame fade delays sped up significantly :)
  24. - Snoop problems fixed (x2)
  25. - Access fault fixed (adda.l d0,a0 -> adda.w d0,a0)
  26. - Localised keyboard support added (requires WHDLoad 12+)
  27. - RomIcon, NewIcon and GlowIcon (created by me!)
  28. - Quit option (default key is '*' on keypad)

  30. The intro and game had very long fade delays which were very annoying so
  31. they have been sped up by approximately 5 times :)

  33. Maybe I am doing something wrong but I found the rotational steering 
  34. control completely uncontrolable due to the skidding the car does. I have
  35. changed the game to default to directional control (but you can change it 
  36. back in the options menu) which means you simply angle the joystick in the
  37. direction you wish to go.

  39. If you get a password for completing a particular level, it will be saved 
  40. in the file "Powerdrive.save" so you can write it down for later. I have
  41. also modified the password option screen to automatically type in the 
  42. last password you earned. (This was a nightmare to code as the bloody game
  43. wipes out the first character and replaces it with a 'B' no matter what
  44. was there before, so the password was effectively wrong! The code is very 
  45. hard to follow too due to constant table lookups).

  47. This release took me some time but I think it's worth it for all the 
  48. saving of options and the password especially (20 character "random"
  49. passwords are so lame!). Note that the password has your name coded into
  50. it so if you use somebody elses password you will have their name in it!)
